In 1981, the company released its first two hits, the arcade games Super Cobra and Scramble, which gained popularity far beyond Japan. The world saw the first video game for slot machines from Konami in 1978, and a year later, products were exported to the United States. The name Konami appeared due to the combination of the first two letters of the names of the founders – KOzuki, NAkama, MIyasako.
The company has offices in three different countries – USA, Australia and Japan.
